Advanced options
Only applies when “Lock aspect ratio” is off and the width and height you typed are a different shape from the original. Stretching squashes the picture, fitting keeps all of it and pads the leftover space, filling keeps the proportions and trims the edges.
Only PNG can store transparency, so choosing Transparent saves the result as a PNG even if the original was a JPG — a transparent area written into a JPG comes out solid black.
92% is close to visually lossless; below about 60% you start to see blocking around edges and text. PNG is lossless and ignores this setting, so the slider is switched off whenever the result will be a PNG.
